Solemn events dedicated to the work of the outstanding poet of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Pyragy were held in the Uzbek capital. Thus, flowers were laid at the bas-relief of the poet, located on Magtymguly Street in Tashkent and the conference "The symbol of friendliness of the Turkmen-Uzbek peoples in the work of Magtymguly Pyragy" was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Turkmen Cultural Center of Uzbekistan.

The events were attended by representatives of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Union of Writers of the country, leaders and members of the national cultural centers of the city of Tashkent, Tashkent velayat, Kashkadarya and Karakalpakstan, as well as Turkmen students studying in universities of Uzbekistan and media representatives.

Opening the event, the head of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan R. Kurbanov, as well as the head of the Turkmen Cultural Center of Uzbekistan G. Avezdurdyyeva noted that holding events dedicated to the work of the great poet has become a kind of tradition, which contributes to strengthening friendly relations between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples.

Mammedov informed that in order to familiarize the public with the works of Magtymguly Pyragy and his contribution to the development of universal values, large-scale preparations are underway in Turkmenistan and abroad for the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the poet in 2024.

Poets and literary critics also spoke at the conference, noting that the works of the outstanding Turkmen philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy and his father Dovletmammet Azady are translated into Uzbek and reach the younger generation.

At the end of the event, the guests were presented with a concert program and an expressive reading of the poems of Magtymguly Pyragy. They were also able to get acquainted with the exhibition of Turkmen carpets and rugs, which are the pride of the people, national decorations, musical instruments and works of arts and crafts.
