The music of our compatriot sounded on another continent

On April 26 in New York, at one of the most prestigious venues for the performance of classical music - Carnegie Hall, a concert entitled "Meeting of East and West" was held with great success. American connoisseurs of classical music met with great interest the performance of pianist Mai Tuiliyeva and violinist Diana Saytz.

The duet's concert program included works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Johannes Brahms, Konstantin Mostras, Zoltan Kodai, Azerbaijani composer Firket Amirov and Turkmen composer Sukhan Tuyliyev.

The Turkmen pianist Maya Tuylieva was born and raised on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea, and the violinist Diana is from Azerbaijan, i.e. she hails from the west coast, which is why they named the concert East meets West. Their duet, Dio Kaspiana, is also named after the Caspian Sea.

Two works by our compatriot Sukhan Tuyliyev - the Second Piano Sonata in 3 parts and "Penda Melodies" arranged from the tuyduk garga and string orchestra for piano and violin - were performed on another continent of the planet, telling melodic motives about the originality of our country.

In addition to America, with their concerts, the duet "Dio Kaspiana" visited Italy, Japan and Russia and left pleasant impressions everywhere. It is noteworthy that the daughter of Diana Saytz, the cellist Esther, also began to take part in their performances, so perhaps the duet will soon turn into a trio.
