The US delegation led by Representative of the U.S. Department of State Suzan Denise Johnson Cook, who arrived in the Turkmen capital, was received at the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting participants underlined that today the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and US had gained new dynamics and content due to the good will of the both countries. They also noted that the both countries had got wide experience of joint work in various spheres that provided a reliable foundation for intensification of fruitful intergovernmental cooperation built on the equal, mutually beneficial and long-term basis.
During the meeting at the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan, the guests got acquainted with the key aspects of the large-scale reformatory processes taken place in the country with the aim of further democratization of the Turkmen society, guaranteeing the human rights and freedoms, including the freedom of religion. In this regard it was underlined the important role of the Interdepartmental commission of the Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan to ensure fulfillment of the international obligations of Turkmenistan in the sphere of human rights.
The meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs focused on the priority aspects and prospects of the intergovernmental cooperation.
Within the framework of their staying in Ashgabat, the guests visited the Main National Museum, the Turkmen Carpet National Museum, the Nisa State Historical and Cultural Reserve, and the Ertogrul Gazy mosque.
