The Finnish delegation led by Director General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland Nina Vaskunlahti was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting agenda focused on the prospects for enhancing the Turkmen-Finnish partnership.
During the meeting the guests from the friendly country were briefed on the key vectors of the internal and foreign policy of the Turkmen state based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness and openness for wide mutually beneficial cooperation with all interested partners.
In this regard, underlining that the international peacemaking initiatives put forward by our country were widely supported in the European society, including Finland, the members of the delegation expressed their interest in the further development of the constructive dialogue on the bilateral and multilateral basis, first of all, within the framework of authoritative international organizations and structures, including the EU and OSCE.
Discussing the prospects for widening efficient bilateral cooperation that has become more active within the last years, the sides defined the priority vectors of the Turkmen-Finnish partnership, including the trading and economic sphere, fuel and energy sector, cultural and humanitarian areas. The meeting participants focused on the issues of further strengthening of the intergovernmental contacts.
Within the framework of their staying in Ashgabat, the guests visited the Main National Museum, the Turkmen Carpet National Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Nisa State Historical and Cultural Reserve.
