The issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation became the main topic of discussion during the meeting of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the city of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali.
Thanking the Turkmen leader for the time devoted to the meeting, the guest conveyed greetings from the top leadership of Tajikistan, which pays special attention to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with independent neutral Turkmenistan.
Warmly welcoming the distinguished guest, Hero-Arkadag conveyed his best wishes to the President of the friendly country Emomali Rahmon, under whose wise leadership prosperous Tajikistan has reached high levels of socio-economic development.
During the meeting, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of interstate relations built on the basis of mutual respect and trust, noting the need for speedy translation of bilateral agreements reached recently into practice.
In this regard, the importance of intensifying and further expanding a productive inter-parliamentary dialogue, designed to serve the progressive development of Turkmen-Tajik contacts and the successful implementation of the existing potential of political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian cooperation, was especially emphasized.
In the opinion of the parties, in the light of the ongoing work on legislative support for the tasks of strengthening the foundations of constructive interstate cooperation, great importance should continue to be given to regular exchange of experience, meetings and consultations between the parliamentarians of the two friendly countries.
As Hero-Arkadag emphasized, the Turkmen people have always valued good, sincere and friendly relations with their closest neighbors, positive nature of partnership with which largely determines the favorable political and economic climate in the region today.
In this context, the importance of the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian countries and Russia in Ashgabat, designed to give a new powerful impetus to the development of a traditionally constructive dialogue between the states of the Central Asian region and Russia, was emphasized.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed confidence in the steady strengthening of all-round ties between the two countries, whose many years of experience in successful cooperation, along with the impressive resource and economic potential, creates prerequisites for the implementation of new important joint projects in the interests of our fraternal peoples.
