The capital's “Altyn Asyr” won the Ashgabat Football Cup. The eight-time reigning champion of Turkmenistan achieved this success by defeating “Ashgabat” - 2:0 in the final.

The game took place at the stadium in Buzmeyin etrap of the capital.

The 46-year-old honored coach of Turkmenistan Yazguly Hojageldiyev led the team of the agency “Turkmenaragatnashyk” to victory in the Ashgabat Cup.

In the match for 3rd place, the capital's “Kopetdag” beat the youth team of “Ahal” - 3:1. It is noteworthy that after the first half, the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan lost - 0:1 after an accurate shot in the 6th minute by Dovletgeldi Charyyev. However, after the break, the wards of Tofik Shukurov scored three goals and won a strong-willed victory. Batyrgylych Berdiyev scored a double for the winners (55th and 66th minutes), Yhlas Saparmamedov scored another goal (56th).

The Ashgabat Cup was held with the participation of four teams and became a good test of strength for its winner “Altyn Asyr” on the eve of the group round of the AFC Cup-2022 starting on June 24 in Dushanbe.

Remind that the champion of Turkmenistan in this tournament will play in group “E” with the vice-champion of Uzbekistan “Sogdiana” (Jizzakh), the owner of the Cup of Kyrgyzstan-2021 “Neftchi” (Kochkor-Ata) and the bronze medalist of the championship of Tajikistan CSKA (Dushanbe).
