The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin awarded the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Order of Friendship.  The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin awarded the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with the Order of Friendship. This was announced by Vice Prime, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov at a government meeting via video link.

Speaking at the meeting, he noted that for many years President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as a diplomat, has been making a significant contribution to the implementation of the foreign policy of the neutral Motherland, the development of constructive cooperation with foreign partners, including authoritative international organizations. As a co-chairman of bilateral intergovernmental commissions, the head of state carried out purposeful work to build up fruitful interstate trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

In this regard, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was awarded the Order of Friendship for his great contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan.

Congratulating the head of state on this high award, the Vice Prime, head of the Foreign Ministry wished him good health and new outstanding successes in his large-scale activities for the benefit of the Motherland and people.

Thanking for the congratulations and good wishes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that he regards this award as a sign of sincere respect for Turkmenistan and its people, as well as a visible symbol of the inviolability of traditionally friendly and good neighborly Turkmen-Russian relations. This award is also evidence of the successful implementation of the peaceful foreign policy initiated by the Hero-Arkadag, which has earned our country a high international authority.
