On May 19, 2022, at the invitation of the Iranian side the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran A. Gurbanov and the Consul General in Mashhad paid a working visit to beautiful Golestan province.

During the visit, the diplomats had negotiations with the governor of Golestan province, Dr. Ali Mohammad Zanganeh, as well as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Golestan province, Zolfaghar Amirshahi, and also got acquainted with the work of the Incheborun-Akyayla railway station and Etrek customs point on the Iranian-Turkmen border. As cultural part of the visit, the diplomats took part in cultural events in honor of the great Turkmen poet of the East Makhtumkuli Fragi in Golestan province near the mausoleum of Makhtumkuli Fragi and were also guests at the festive races of beautiful horses.

During the visit, the parties proudly noted the developing relations based on mutual interests between Turkmenistan and Iran, especially bordering provinces the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport and communication and cultural-humanitarian fields, and also discussed proposals for the development of cooperation between the two countries.
