Student teams of nine higher educational institutions of the country took part in an intellectual competition for the right to possess the Challenge Cup of the Training Center in priority areas of diplomacy of Turkmenistan. The competition is organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of the country and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The venue for the event was the Higher School of Diplomacy of the country. The number of contestants included student teams of the IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, the International University for the Humanities and Development, the International University of Oil and Gas named after Y.Kakayev, the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Nyyazov, the Turkmen National Institute of Foreign Languages named after D.Azady, the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, the Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan named after Oguzhan and the State Energy Institute of the country.
As part of the intellectual quiz, the participants were addressed questions related to the priority areas of Turkmen diplomacy. In particular, student teams were offered tasks on the topics of transport, energy and water diplomacy.
The independent jury of the competition included representatives of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and “the Turkmen Logistics” Association. The competition allowed the participants to reveal their diplomatic qualities and abilities, to test their knowledge in the field of international relations, diplomacy, state and foreign policy of Turkmenistan.
The intellectual quiz also contributed to the development the potential of the participants, increasing their interest in the art of diplomacy and in further studying the tasks of the country's foreign policy.
According to the results of the competition, the jury determined the 4 best student teams. The IIR team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan won the Grand Prix and the coveted Cup of the Training Center in priority areas of diplomacy of Turkmenistan. The first place was awarded to the International University of Oil and Gas named after Y.Kakayev, the second - to the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and the third - to the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan. Letters of thanks for participation and memorable souvenirs were received by all participants of the competition.
We add that the Training Center for priority areas of diplomacy of Turkmenistan was opened on the basis of the IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country on December 20, 2018. The main task of the center is to organize training sessions for the training and advanced training of specialists through an in-depth study of the foreign policy course of the President of Turkmenistan, first of all, initiatives aimed at effective international cooperation on energy, transport and water resources.
The training center conducts extensive explanatory work for students, the emphasis is on the importance of ongoing international activities in priority areas of national diplomacy. At the same time, in this context, the center actively conducts and expands international cooperation. University teachers practice here the preparation of educational and methodological manuals, articles of a scientific, theoretical and practical nature. All activities are covered in a special electronic section of the training center on the digital educational portal of the institute, where recordings of lectures and practical classes, feature articles, speeches, presentations, photo and video materials on energy, transport and water diplomacy are regularly posted.
