In a series of scheduled festive events within the framework of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan and the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli, the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the baton of conductor and artistic director Rasul Klychev was the first to perform. The musicians gave a dedication concert to the poet at the Mukams Palace.

The concert program was composed in such a way that our present time became the prologue and epilogue to the story about Magtymguly. Aina Seyitkuliyeva and People's Artist of Turkmenistan Atajan Berdyev opened the program with the song "Arkadag".

Many Turkmen composers turned to the poetry of the greatest poet, who became the national pride of the Turkmen people. The poetry of Magtymguly pointed the way to the prosperity of the Turkmen people. Magtymguly's precepts, his views and thoughts are being embodied at the present time. This is what every sound of the work "Turkmen", which Veli Akhmedov dedicated to Magtymguly.

The soul of the poet, scorched by unrequited love, found solace in poetry. The sincerity and nobility of the Master of Words attract Turkmen composers, and the poems turn into songs that are immediately picked up by the people. Such songs on the verses of Makhtumkuli as “Armanym Galdy”, “Bu Gun”, “Name Sen?” and others are especially loved and popular among the people.

From the stage of the Mukams Palace, songs based on the verses of Makhtumkuli were performed by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Atageldy Garyagdyev, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Bibidzhemal Amanova, Govshut Bayramov and others.

Sincerely and touchingly, the vocalists of the State Choir a cappella sang several songs to the words of Makhtumkuli, one of which is “Oyanmaz” by Chary Nurymov.

The soundtrack to Alty Karliev's film "Makhtumkuli" sounded beautifully in Khalmamedov's style. To the enchanting melodies of Nury Khalmamedov, fragments of this film were shown about how a young student returns from Khiva to his native land. The joy of meeting with fellow villagers, the love that flared up for Mengli was soon overshadowed by the raids of the enemy army with robberies and fires ...

The whole life of Makhtumkuli, captured in film frames, appeared before the public in the hall. Perhaps this was what strengthened the receptivity of Sukhan Tuyliev's solemn and patriotic ode "Turkmen binasy".

The concert made a huge impression on the audience. Each of those present felt somehow involved in the great and eternal Magtymguly. 300 years have passed since the birth of the great master of the word, another 300 will pass, and Turkmen composers will find new forms to emphasize Magtymguly's thoughts in music and songs even more subtle and multifaceted.
