Unique sport complex, the Olympic village, summoned to multiply the authority of Turkmenistan as world sport leading state and to expand international cooperation, was built in the Turkmen capital under preparation to Asian Games – 2017. Project planners and constructors had a task to build sport complex, which by its architectural design, aesthetics, functionality, universality and technical provision would correspond to international standards.
The unique complex of sport facilities, which has no analogies in the region, is almost completed. Multifunctional cluster with thoughtful infrastructure is able to provide complex solution of the issues related to reception and accommodating of the athletes, training and competition processes.
We are glad to present another facility of the Olympic village – Grand training gyms. Multifunctional facility of the Olympic village with dimensions 247 X 102 X 17 meters probably will be most visited one. It is located near play sports complex where basketball, volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatics and trampoline, badminton, fencing and other competitions will be held there with great number of visitors. There is underground pass between two buildings made for the comfort of sportsmen.
Grand training complex stipulates training gyms and play sports competitions’ hall. They are able to host qualification competitions, regional and national tournaments. Each hall is equipped with open and telescopic stands allowing to receive up to 500 spectators in two halls each and two other halls are able to accommodate up to 1000 visitors each. Application of telescopic stands is necessary for training process as it allows to increase the area of sport ground. Besides, there are automatic partitions allowing to divide halls in several sectors and to hold two trainings at the same time, which are Ping-Pong and basketball, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics, basketball and fencing.
There are for halls for rhythmic and sport gymnastics, acrobatics, badminton and trampoline, basketball and fencing, table tennis, handball and volleyball in the grand training complex. All four halls are provided with first-class certified sport equipment from world brands, which took part in organization of the Olympic Games in London and Rio-de-Janeiro.
For example, famous French company Gymnova, which provided special cover for gymnastic stands, all complex of gymnastic equipment, portable trampolines with safety systems and mats, equipped halls for rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatics, badminton and trampoline. Representatives of the company not only provided the halls with sport and training equipment but also gave consultancy on how to work with it.
Leading international companies, manufacturers of sport equipment took part in equipping of the hall for basketball and fencing. For example, basketball shields, mobile collapsible racks for basketball fields as well as ball-throwing machine were made by Dutch Schelde Sport Company. Wooden tiles as the flooring of joint basketball and volleyball grounds were manufactured by American Connor Sports Flooring Corporation. Basketballs were presented by Spalding (USA). Fencing strips were made by PVT from Hungary and sport gear and footwear for fencers by Adidas.
All necessary conditions for comprehensive training process and rest of athletes are established there. Each hall has steam bath and sauna, massage room, comfort cafes. The training halls are able to receive the athletes of the highest qualification.
