People's Artist of Turkmenistan Annadurdy Almammedov turns 85 this year. His brush painted hundreds of paintings in different genres - portraits, landscapes, still lifes, decorative sketches. The most important achievement in his work is his own theme of the kingdom of mountains and a peculiar vision of color.
Among themselves, colleagues call Annadurdy Almammedov a singer of mountains, because he, like no other Turkmen artist, tirelessly sings of the beauty, power, might and greatness of mountains in his works.
Annadurdy Almammedov was born and raised in the west of Turkmenistan in the village of Bendesen (near the city of Serdar), located among the mountain peaks in an unusually colorful environment, which has sunk into his soul since childhood.
Having become an artist, he conveys the image of Turkmen nature on the canvas. He especially manages to create compositions of the landscape of mountains, with the supply of the depth of space, the air environment, the rhythm of pointed peaks. Landscapes of snow-capped peaks of silent mountains the artist enlivens with blossoming spring trees, murmuring streams, cozy houses of villages immersed in greenery. All this is in his paintings "Mountains", "White Mountains", "Kone-Kesir", "Spring", "Autumn Landscape", "Poppy Field", "My Land Blooms", etc.
Annadurdy Almammedovich expresses love for everything living and blooming in still lifes with flowers and fruits. Such still lifes as "The Generous Land", "Lilacs in the Workshop", "Dedication", "Poppies" convey the joy of life and the celebration of being. In each work of Annadurdy Almammedov - the state of the author's soul: admiration, sensitivity, awe. Such harmony is determined by the measure of talent.
Presenting his works at state and international exhibitions (England, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, Uzbekistan), Annadurdy Almammedov shares his sense of beauty with the audience, sincerely wishing everyone to feel the beauty of the nature of his land. And Almammedov's paintings find admirers of painting, falling into private collections in the Netherlands, Russia, Syria, Romania, Turkey, England and America.
As a true artist, Annadurdy Almammedov lives in search of new and unexpected sensations of life. Perhaps this is what leads him to work with young people. For about 50 years he has been sharing the secrets of craftsmanship with the younger generation of artists. Communication with students, trips to the open air involuntarily awaken in the venerable artist a passion for new creations.
