Turkmen filmmakers to present their films at Tashkent Film Festival

The delegation of Turkmenistan, consisting of the leadership of the Association "Turkmenfilm" named after Oguzhan and the film crew, will take part in the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road", which will be held on September 13-18. At a press conference held on September 8, the organizers of this multi-format event reported many interesting details regarding its program and participants.

It is expected that the Tashkent film festival will bring together about 500 film workers, movie stars and celebrities, producers and film critics, film scholars, media representatives from 40 countries. During the days of the film festival, 150 feature, documentary and short films will be shown, more than 20 events related to film production, education, demonstration of films, and the filmmaking process will be held. Takeshi Kitano, Armand Assante, Burak Ozcevit, Sergey Bezrukov, Johnny Depp (online) and Timur Bekmambetov will take part in the opening ceremony of the film festival.

Within the framework of the Tashkent International Film Festival, the Days of Cinema of the SCO countries will be held, timed to coincide with the summit of the heads of the SCO member states, which will be held from September 15 to 16 in Samarkand and to which President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov is invited as a guest of honor. Days of world, documentary, national and retro cinema will also be held

Dozens of other events of the film festival include round tables and forums, master classes and creative meetings with famous actors, signing of memorandums and agreements on the creation of new joint film projects, show concerts and performances. The highlight of the panel for animators will be the presentation of the animation project "Khoja Nasreddin" by producer and director Timur Bekmambetov. He will also hold a presentation of the full-length action film "Kyrk-Kyz", based on the legend of forty brave Amazon girls who defended the fortress of the same name in battle.

Turkmen filmmakers will take part in many events of the Tashkent Film Festival, including its opening and closing ceremonies, in the international competition of young filmmakers "Film in Five Days", in a meeting of heads of national film studios of the CIS countries, at which it is planned to sign an Agreement on the establishment of an international association of organizations film industry of the Commonwealth countries, as well as hold the Days of Turkmen cinema, scheduled for September 13, 16 and 17. They will present the competition films of a new generation of Turkmen directors "Istyarin" by Arslan Eyeberdyev, "Gyzyl kurte" by Sahysalykh Bayramov and "At-Myrat" by Vepa Ishankuliev.
