With a major victory over the Northern Mariana Islands - 7:0, the football players of the youth team of Turkmenistan (under 20) began their performance in the qualifying tournament of the Asian Cup-2023, which started in the capital of Jordan.

In addition to these teams, three more teams - Jordan, Syria and Taiwan - are fighting in Group D for the right to participate in the final part of the competition.

In the opening match, who took place at the Petra Stadium in Amman, Said Seyidov's wards did not experience any problems, scoring four goals in the first half and three in the second. Dayanch Meredov (7th and 19th minutes), Suleyman Mirzoev (31st and 86th) and Sokhbet Durdiyev (76th and 81st) scored twice in our team. Another goal was scored by the captain of the team Arslan Saparov (45+1).

In another match of the first round, the Syrian youth team beat their peers from Taiwan - 1:0 thanks to Al-Aswad's winning goal in the 28th minute.

In the second round, the youth team of Turkmenistan will face a difficult match against the hosts of the qualifying tournament - the football players of Jordan. In another match, the teams of the Northern Mariana Islands and Syria will play.
