On the stage of the National Drama Theater named after Alp Arslan, the premiere of the romantic comedy «Yşk mekany Hindistan» («ndia - the land of love») was held with great success. Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Handurdy Berdiyev directed the new theatrical production.

The performance, based on the work of the same name by Gadam Kakabayev, raises topical issues of social inequality, the problems of «fathers and children». And also, using the example of heroes, it teaches to find ways to mutual understanding, respect for each other and tolerance in the spirit of the philosophical views of Mahatma Gandhi.

The plot line of the play is extremely simple and understandable. A guy from a wealthy family, returning to his native land after many years of study in Europe, meets a young maid who serves in his father's house.

Imbued with mutual sympathy at first sight, Sanjay (Suleyman Eminov) and Ratha (Jennet Horasanlyyeva) strive to unite their loving hearts at all costs. However, the father of the young man Bagrat Singh (Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Dovlet Hanmammedov) opposes their union. He tries in every possible way to dissuade his son from an unwanted marriage.

But you can't tell your heart. As a result, one of the most beautiful love stories ends with a big wedding.

Like well-known Indian films, the theatrical performance is replete with incendiary music, colorful outfits and, of course, an indescribable atmosphere of Indian flavor. The first spectators appreciated the magnificent play of actors, bright scenery and the beauty of traditional Indian costumes.

This year, Turkmenistan and India are celebrating an anniversary date - 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. In the light of this event, a new theatrical performance, carried out by the Turkmen theater, has become a kind of congratulation to the people of a friendly country.
