The package of bilateral documents signed following the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan included a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Turkmenistan. The document is intended to help build up trade and economic ties between the two friendly countries, join efforts in promoting national brands and developing the export of goods and services to foreign markets. It complements a significant number of agreements and memorandums of cooperation, on the basis of which the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan maintains bilateral relations with many foreign chambers of commerce and industry and associations.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan is the coordinator of international congress and exhibition events in the country and abroad. To conduct them at the highest level, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan has all the necessary infrastructure that meets international standards.
The functions of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan include: promoting the development of the economy of Turkmenistan, its integration into the world economic system, the formation of a modern industrial, financial and trade infrastructure, the establishment of trade, economic, scientific and technical ties with foreign partners. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry contributes to the creation of favorable conditions for entrepreneurial activity and the export of goods and services of Turkmen manufacturers, the attraction of foreign business to Turkmenistan and the organization of business missions.
These important functions are facilitated by regular international exhibitions, fairs and conferences. As noted at the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers following the results of the activities of the sectors of the national economic complex for the nine months of 2022, the growth rate for the work carried out by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the reporting period amounted to 113.8 percent, 13 exhibitions and 41 conferences were organized. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan plays an important role in the implementation of the tasks set to expand the export of industrial and food products, agricultural products, promotion of finished products with the Turkmen label to the markets of foreign countries.
