Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his visit to the Russian Federation, said that in 2023 the foundation of the Turkmen-Russian University would be laid in Turkmenistan.

Hero-Arkadag said this during a meeting with Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan noted that one of the priority areas of interstate cooperation is the scientific and educational sphere. In this regard, Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that great attention is paid to the Russian language in Turkmenistan, starting from preschool institutions and ending with higher educational institutions.

Reminding that at the Summit of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth, held on October 14 this year, the year 2023 in the CIS countries was declared the Year of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication, Hero-Arkadag also noted that, by decision of Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin, in Next year, the foundation of the Turkmen-Russian University will be laid in Turkmenistan.
