The exhibition-presentation of the book "Picturesque legends of Ancient Merv" is held at the exhibition complex of the Russian Academy of Arts, issued by the Turkmen State Publishing Service in Moscow.
Colorful art album has received highly expert assessment of the international community of publishers at the recent 29th Moscow International Book Fair. It is included in the number of the winners of the XIII International Contest of CIS member states, "Art of the Book".
Current showcasing presentation held with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, provides an opportunity for the Moscow general public to get acquainted with samples of national art, facing the artistic interpretation of the centuries-old cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. The organizers choose an unusual form of familiarization of the book, when presentation of the publication is accompanied by the exhibition of "alive" works having had in the pages of the book.
Six dozen paintings and graphic works of local authors are acquainted the public with the modern Turkmen fine arts.
In the Russian Academy of Arts of the main hall of Exhibition Center, the guests are being welcomed by the President of Academy who is the well-known painter, sculptor and designer, Professor Zurab Tsereteli, who noted that the prepared exhibition which is a desirable gathering with vivid examples of painting and drawing, allows to expand the idea of Turkmen culture, based on centuries-old folk traditions of high spirituality.
An acknowledged master of the Russian fine art underlines that awe-respect relation to the origins of national spirituality reflects the works of Turkmen artists with deep philosophical understanding of the cultural heritage of the people of greatness. Having presented the pictures make the viewer close and clear the world of national art, filled with bright colors and images, leading the inspired ancient cultural traditions of the native land on today’s prosperous society.
Having received a gift the art album on "Picturesque legends of Ancient Merv", Zurab Tsereteli has declared that the Russian Academy of Arts prepares diplomas of gratitude conferred to ten Turkmen painters, whose works are exhibited at the showcasing-presentation.
One of the organizers of the campaign has begun the International Confederation of Unions of Artists. Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association of Public Unions on "International Confederation of Unions of Artists", member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts Masut Fatkulin shares with his opinions about the event:
>- In the year of the 25th anniversary of the CIS it is nicely to realize that all these years mutually enriching process of creative communication does not stop multilingual family of artists of the member states of Commonwealth. In this process, masters the fine art of independent neutral Turkmenistan actively participate in it. It is important to note that Turkmenistan, a country with such rich national traditions, the state plays a very active, strategic role in the conservation and enhancement of the huge historical heritage of the people.
