A few days remain before the long-awaited holiday - the New Year. By tradition, on the eve of the New Year celebrations, a new ice show is being prepared at the Ashgabat Winter Sports Complex.

The program includes more than 20 spectacular numbers, the original tango of characters from the cartoon "Well, Just you wait!", as well as the performance of Turkmen national dances and dances of the peoples of the world.

Interest in figure skating and winter sports in Turkmenistan is growing every year. Recently, our country has become a full member of the International Skating Union ISU. The ranks of young figure skaters and hockey players are systematically filled with new talents.

Sometimes kids go on the ice from the age of four, and are so addicted that they achieve great success.

One of these enthusiasts is the athlete Aina Ekyaeva. She came to figure skating as a very young girl and managed to achieve significant results by her young age. She became the winner of competitions held at the city level and at the country level. And recently, the figure skater returned from Turkey, where the Bosphorus Cup 2022 international figure skating competitions were held.

- For the first time I competed at the Bosphorus Cup in 2019, - says Aina Ekyaeva. - Before that, I took part in the Winter International Sports Games "Children of Asia" in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. This year I was also lucky to represent the national team of Turkmenistan in figure skating competitions in singles and ice dancing.

For the Istanbul Bosphorus Cup 2022, our athlete has prepared two performances. With her coach Ilina Karimova, the skater practiced rotations and one of the most difficult edge jumps in figure skating - the snipe. These spectacular tricks and the best ice performances, young skaters will demonstrate in a new concert program.

A wide audience will be able to see the demonstration performances of athletes very soon on the New Year's broadcast of the country's national television.
