The Football Federation of Turkmenistan has announced the names of the winners of the 2022 season.
For the first time, the 24-year-old striker of «Kopetdag», a native of the village of Gami, Ak Bugday etrap, Ahal velayat, Begench Akmammedov, was recognized as the best football player of Turkmenistan-2022 for the first time. Over the years, he played for the clubs «Ashgabat», «Ahal», «Altyn Asyr». In the last national championship, his «Kopetdag» team remained below the line of winners - they finished in fourth place, and Begench himself, with 19 goals scored (3 from penalties), took third place in the scorers' dispute, losing 8 goals to the winner Didar Durdyyev from «Ahal».
It is noteworthy that the 29-year-old Didar Durdyyev becomes the top scorer of the championship of Turkmenistan for the second time. In 2019, this forward scored 14 goals, and in 2022 - 27 (5 from penalties), 6 goals ahead of Alibek Abdurahmanov («Merv»), who became the second.
The Football Federation also identified the 22 best players of the 2022 season.
The first team included: goalkeeper Rasul Charyyev («Ahal»), defenders Mekan Saparov («Altyn Asyr»), Abdy Bashimov, Shohrat Soyunov, Ata Geldiyev (all - «Ahal»), midfielders Mirza Beknazarov, Arslanmyrat Amanov (both - «Ahal») Ahmet Atayev, Altymyrad Annadurdyyev (both - «Altyn Asyr»), forwards Didar Durdyyev («Ahal») and Begench Akmammedov («Kopetdag»). In the second - goalkeeper Mammet Orazmammedov («Altyn Asyr»), defenders Zafar Babajanov, Yhlas Toyjanov (both - «Altyn Asyr»), Serdar Bayramov («Kopetdag»), Ibrayim Mammedov («Ahal), midfielders Ilya Tamurkin, Elman Tagayev (both - «Ahal»), Mekan Ashyrov («Shagadam»), Myrat Annayev («Altyn Asyr»), forwards Alibek Abdurahmanov («Merv») and Kerim Hojaberdiyev («Shagadam»).
23-year-old «Ahal» goalkeeper Resul Charyyev was recognized as the best goalkeeper. Last season, he could well count on the prize «The best football player of Turkmenistan», having made a significant contribution to the victory of the team of the Main Department «Turkmennebitonumleri» in the championship, the Cup of Turkmenistan, the FFT Cup, as well as to the successful performance of the youth team of Turkmenistan (U-23) in the Cup Asia-2022 in Uzbekistan. Remind, for the first time playing in the final tournament of the youth continental championship, Ahmet Agamyradov's wards made it to the quarterfinals, having achieved the best result in the history of Turkmen football.
FIFA referee Resul Mammedov became the best referee of the championship of Turkmenistan-2022. And the fair play prize, established by the Football Federation of Turkmenistan and awarded to the team with the best disciplinary performance, was awarded to FC «Merv».
34-year-old Mergen Orazov was recognized as the best coach of Turkmenistan-2022, under whose leadership FC «Ahal» last year for the first time became the champion of the country, won the Cup of Turkmenistan for the fourth time and the FFT Cup for the second time. The championship cup at the awarding ceremony was presented to the captain of the team Serdar Geldiyev by the chairman of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan Arslan Aynazarov.
The silver medals of the national championship went to the ex-champion of Turkmenistan «Altyn Asyr», and the bronze medals went to «Merv».
According to the results of the last championship, which was held in four rounds with the participation of 8 teams, all three winners, upon successful completion of the licensing procedure, will represent Turkmenistan in club tournaments held under the auspices of the Asian Football Confederation.
«Ahal» as the champion of the country will take part in the group stage of the AFC Champions League season 2023/2024. And the vice-champion «Altyn Asyr» and the bronze medalist of the championship «Merv» will perform in the AFC Cup. «Altyn Asyr», as the silver medalist of the national championship, will start the fight for the second most important Asian club trophy in September 2023 from the group stage of the AFC Cup, and «Merv», as a bronze medalist, from the qualification round, the matches of which will be held in August 2023 of the year.
