In October 2015, a Memorandum of cooperation in the study and restoration of monuments of Turkmenistan between the Miho Museum of Japan and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan was signed.

Recently, representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and Miho Museum signed an agreement to start joint work on the restoration of monuments of Kunyaurgench. The head of research of the Museum Miho Hajime Inagaki said on how to build this cooperation:

- Together with our colleagues from the National Department for Protection, Study and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Turkmenistan we decided to start with the study of glaze which is covering tile of domes of medieval mausoleums, in particular, in Kunyaurgench. To restore the lost fragments of glazed tiles, and further development of its production, we plan to analyze the composition of the ancient glaze and recreate it. In the course of our joint research we hope to disclose secrets of medieval pottery.

In the middle of this year, the Miho Museum exhibits collection of culture and life, presented a retrospective panorama of tradition of the Turkmen people and accompanied the presentation of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s book on "Tea is balsam and inspiration", published in Japanese. Humanitarian campaign demonstrated genuine interest of Japanese culture upon traditions of our country and the enormous potential for the promotion of the Turkmen-Japanese cultural dialogue.
