The UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) has published an information compendium dedicated to the 15th anniversary of its establishment. The publication entitled «The United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia: 15 years of activity in the region» reflects the multifaceted activities of the Centre over the past period, provides information on the leadership, mandate and priority areas of work of the Centre.

The collection contains materials on multilateral cooperation platforms created in Central Asia, such as the Dialogue of Women Leaders, aimed at supporting the aspirations of women in the countries of the region to actively participate in political, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian affairs, the Academy of Preventive Diplomacy, in which trains the youth of the region, the Task Force on Legal Aspects of Water and Energy Cooperation between the States of Central Asia, etc. Information is also provided on cooperation with other UN structures, in particular, in the field of counter-terrorism, on the experience of cooperation with the institutions of strategic studies of Central Asian countries, as well as various projects and other events.

At the meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday with the head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Natalya German, who is completing her work in Ashgabat, it was noted that the initiative to create the UNRCCA belonged to the Hero-Arkadag, who began the process of creating a new models of cooperation in a strategically important region of the world. Over the past years, UNRCCA has become an outpost of the UN in Central Asia, contributing to the intensification of the development of joint decisions based on political and legal instruments and organizational and political means of the most authoritative international organization.

Stating the fruitful nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UNRCCA, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan appreciates the work of the Centre as an important contribution to creating a solid foundation for peace, stability and security in the region and stands for expanding the potential of the UNRCCA. The Resolution of the UN General Assembly «The Role of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia», adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan on the 16th of April, 2021, is of great importance for further strengthening the capacity and international legal framework of the Regional Centre. At the meeting, confidence was expressed, that the potential of the Centre will continue to be in demand in such areas as energy security, sustainable transport, water issues, environmental protection, information and biological security, disarmament issues, etc.
