At the checkpoint of the Turkmen-Kazakh border, representatives of the customs, the consular service of Turkmenistan and the administration of the city of Garabogaz met the column of the motor rally «The Caspian Sea - the Sea of Friendship», headed by the Governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation Igor Babushkin.

The participants of the motocross made a short stop in the «Avaza» National Tourist Zone. And while the motorcycle engines were cooling down at the universal parking lot of the city of Turkmenbashy, the travelers had a rest in the fashionable «Berkarar» Hotel, located on the coast of the Caspian Sea. The guests also walked along the shore, and the most hardened ones even plunged into the salty waters of the water area.

After a short break, the motocross was continued. Having passed the distance from Turkmenbashy to the Turkmen capital, the convoy, consisting of seven motorcycles and two jeeps with camping trailers, successfully arrived in Ashgabat. Diplomatic meetings will be held here, aimed at strengthening the interaction between Russia and Turkmenistan.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region have a long-standing partnership. The agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the Russian region and our country has been in force for 15 years. Issues related to the realization of the potential of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashy and the regular implementation of passenger-cargo flights to the Russian port of Olya (Astrakhan region), the creation of a logistics centre of Turkmenistan in this port are actively discussed.

From Ashgabat, the participants of the motocross will go to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Then they will visit the territory of Azerbaijan and the capital of the country, Baku, where they will take part in a one-day youth forum of Azerbaijan and the Astrakhan region.

The movement will continue through the Dagestan city of Kaspiysk, from where the path to the finish line will begin, which will take place on the 11th of the April in Astrakhan.

Remind that the motor rally «Caspian Sea of Friendship» started from Astrakhan on the 1st of the April. This route is implemented for the first time. The first point of the route was the Kazakh city of Atyrau. According to the plan, in 11 days, motorcyclists will cover 5,000 kilometers across the territories of five Caspian states.

The purpose of the motocross is to strengthen good neighbourly relations with the countries of the Caspian region and further develop multilateral cooperation.
