The 6^th round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship among Major League clubs has started with three matches in Ashgabat and Mary.

The vice-champion «Altyn Asyr» hosted the outsider of the national championship «Shagadam» from Turkmenbashy at the stadium in Buzmein etrap of the capital. The match was held with a noticeable advantage of the home team, who took the lead in the 20^th minute. The penalty area of the guests was followed by a pass from the right flank, after which the ball bounced to Azat Annaev, who hit the opponent's goal.

The defeat of «Shagadam» was completed by Vakhit Orazsakhedov, who scored a double in the 59^th and 82^nd minutes.

With a big victory - 4:0, the players of «Altyn Asyr» came very close to the leader of the standings «Arkadag» hoping to compete with this team in the fight for the championship. «Arkadag» has 12 points after four games. «Altyn Asyr» has 11 points after five matches. «Kopetdag» is in third place, but it has 11 points after six games.

In the 6^th round, «Kopetdag» missed an opportunity to get closer to the leader, losing two points in an away game against «Merv» from Mary. The hosts could win this match, leading 2-0 after brilliant long-range shots to the «nine» of Mukam Nazzyev (8^th minute) and Ambyar Mahmudov (10^th). Tofik Shukurov's wards avoided defeat two minutes before the end of full time. First, Ovezbay Mukhamedmuradov scored one goal in the 52 minute, and then Yazklych Kurbanov successfully scored the second goal in the 88 minute and the match ended in a draw, 2-2.

"Nebitchi" from Balkanabat takes fourth place in the standings with 10 points after four games. One point behind it is «Ashgabat», which thanks to a double by Shatlyk Gurbanov (60^th and 63^rd minutes) defeated «Akhal» with the score 2-0 at the Nisa stadium in this round. The score could have been bigger, but «Ashgabat's» Bayjan Satlykov failed to take a penalty awarded for fact that the goalkeeper knocked down the striker. Goalkeeper Ovezmurad Ovezmuradov rehabilitated himself with an 11-meter penalty shot.

After this victory, «Ashgabat» moved closer to the top four. But «Akhal», which will play in the AFC Champions League for the second time this year, has already suffered its fifth defeat in a row and closes the standings with 3 points together with the teams «Energetik» and «Shagadam».
