On February 12, our country will host an important political event – the elections of the President of Turkmenistan! In accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Election code of Turkmenistan, the 2017 presidential elections will be held at the alternative basis, on the principles of democracy, openness, publicity and equal rights.
The new edition of the Main Law of Turkmenistan was adopted at the 2016 Elders’ Council. The Constitution was amended in compliance with the proposals offered by people and political parties.
Important tasks on implementation of national programmes aimed at increasing the economic power of the country are set to each of us. Each citizen of our country feels the results of these programmes in everyday life.
The social and living conditions in villages, settlements, etrap cities and administrative centres have significantly changed. Hundreds social and cultural objects were built and put into operation. New production facilities opened in the industrial sector.
Moreover, new jobs and labour conditions are created at the high-technology industries to contribute to the dynamical development of the country. The reforms taken place in our country provide positive results in economy, politics, foreign-economic relations, in all spheres of the national economy.
I would like to express sincere gratitude to the members of the initiative group, who nominated me for the presidential elections as well as the members of the Central Election Commission.
Taking the opportunity, I congratulate the President of Turkmenistan, all presidential candidates and the people of Turkmenistan on the coming New Year! I wish you new achievements and let the year of 2017 bring success and prosperity to all of you!
