The Head of the State arrived to decorated building of the Trade and Union Chamber. There, the President of Turkmenistan was greeted by the Chairperson of National Parliament, Government members, Leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, Hyakims of velayats and Ashgabat.
Congratulating the Head of the State on the holiday, representative of the Government wished him strong health, long and happy life, inexhaustible power and energy.
The participants highlighted that last anniversary year was filled with important events in political, economic and cultural life of the country, remarkable achievements and considerable work victories of Turkmen people and became one of the bright and memorable years in modern history of Turkmenistan.
Having thanked for sincere wishes and for large work performed for the year, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov from the deep of his heart congratulated the participants on New Year 2017, having wished it to be the year of realized hopes, success and large achievements.
Addressing New Year wishes to Turkmen citizens, the Head of the State expressed the confidence that 2017 would be another remarkable year in glorious record of great achievements of our state.
After, New Year show, where the Head of the State made congratulation speech, was held with participation of the president of Turkmenistan, the Government corps of the country, Turkmen and foreign diplomats.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that current celebration, which united representatives of different states, is a symbol of friendship and brotherhood.
The Head of the State said that 2016, the Year of Honour of Heritage and Transformation of the Motherland was marked with victories and successes achieved in different branches, in all directions of internal and foreign policy of Turkmenistan, which is aimed at protection of national interests and consolidation of peace around the world.
It was mentioned that 2016 was a year of deep study of national culture, history and their popularization in the world and V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 2017 would enhance sport authority of our country.
The Head of the State expressed firm confidence that everything what was planned for 2017 would be accomplished, all set targets achieved and congratulated for one more time the participants and all people on New Year.
After, there was celebration show, which programme included performances of art masters. Music, song and dance performances presented various art palette where folklore and modern popular genres are harmonically combined.
Special enthusiasm of the participants was aroused by performance of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who sang his own songs. New songs, written by the Head of the State, penetrated deeply the audience with beautiful tunes and heartfelt words, having left excited memories what was evidenced by the storm of applauses.
The Miniature art contest was also held during New Year event. Summing up the results of the competition and award ceremony of the winners was the final part of celebration show.
