The prospects for expanding mutual partnership were discussed during a meeting at the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan with a leading specialist of the IOM regional office. This was reported on the website of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.

The parties touched upon such topics as border management in relation with health issues, preparedness, prevention and mitigation of the impact of emergencies on the migration process.

The International Organization for Migration cooperates with Member States and other partners to ensure that migrants are included in national plans. In turn, the SDGs, adopted by Turkmenistan, provide an opportunity to promote the health of migrants.
