Om January 17, the registration of the candidates for the post of the president of Turkmenistan was completed. Nine candidates was officially registered for the forthcoming elections of the Head of the State.
There are existing President of Turkmenistan G. M. Berdimuhamedov from the Democratic Party, Board Chairman of Rysgal JSC bank B. Ataliyev from the party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of Mary Committee of the Agrarian Party D. Orazov among them.
Besides, six candidates were nominated by the initiative groups of the citizens: Deputy Hyakim of Mary Velayat J. Annayev, Director of Seydi Oil Refinery R. Durdiyev, Deputy Hyakim of Dashoguz Velayat M. Gurbanov, Head of the General Department of the Economy and Development of Ahal Velayat S. Jelilov, general Director of Production Association “Garabogazsulfat” of the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya” S. Nurnepesov, Deputy Chairman of the State Association of Food Industry M. Annanepesov.
According to the national legislation and international law standards, all registered candidates for the highest government post were presented with equal rights and opportunities for organizations of meetings with the electorate, public speeches on TV, radio and printing media
At present moment, 3223 national observers from the candidates, who will monitor election process, were registered. There are 610 people are the representatives of the Democratic Party, 336 from the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, 407 from the Agrarian Party, 687 from the Trade Unions, 279 from the Female Union, 509 from Youth Organization, 321 from the initiative groups of the citizens, 74 people from the candidates for the post of the President of Turkmenistan.
