The Center for Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan hosted a scientific practical conference dedicated to the further development of digital ecosystems of the city of Arkadag, where the concept of a "smart" city is implemented.
In addition to the scientists of the Technocenter, the event was attended by the Chairman Committee of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan city of Arkadag, representatives of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics Turkmenistan.
The participants of the meeting discussed various aspects of the digitalization of the city, including the application of new technologies in areas such as management urban infrastructure, education, healthcare, transport, energy to improve the quality of life of citizens and provide environmental sustainability.
The new city, located in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, is an example of a "smart" city, in the life of which are integrated digital, information and communication and "green" technologies.
One of the projects that has already been implemented in the city is a system air quality monitoring, which allows citizens to receive information about the state of the air in real time.
This system was developed as part of the Arkadag Smart City project and includes sensors installed throughout the city that can measure the level of air pollution and transmit the obtained data to central server.
The conference also touched upon security issues cities, including the use of video surveillance systems and systems emergency alerts.
At the meeting, it was noted that the accession of the city of Arkadag to the project “The development of sustainable, green, climate-friendly cities with innovative solutions in the region of the Organization for Security and cooperation in Europe”, as well as the presentation of the relevant certificate became clear evidence that ongoing in this direction work is recognized internationally.
