An agreement was signed on holding the World Kurash Championship in Turkmenistan

The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports signed an agreement with the International Kurash Association to hold the 14th World Kurash Championship on the 23rd to 28th of November, 2023 in the martial arts complex of the Olympic village of Ashgabat.

According to the MIC, the signing ceremony of the document took place during a meeting in Ashgabat between the Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports and the Chairman of the International Kurash Association Haider A. Farman.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of various sports federations and departmental organizations of the country, students and media representatives.

In his speech, the head of the International Kurash Association highly appreciated the level of preparation for the upcoming World Kurash Championship in Ashgabat.

After the speech, the parties signed agreements on holding the Kurash World Cup in Ashgabat. Also, the flag of the International Kurash Association was presented to the head of the Turkmen State Sports Committee.

Last year, the World Kurash Championship was held in the Indian city of Pune, the awards of which were contested by representatives of 60 countries.
