Key issues of cooperation development were discussed during the meeting of representatives of the State Concern «Turkmengas» and a high-ranking delegation of the Republic of Iraq.

The parties exchanged views on the issue of expanding cooperation in such an important area as the fuel and energy complex. Particular attention was paid to the issues of swap supplies of Turkmen natural gas to Iraq through the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Iraqi side expressed interest in participating in large-scale projects in this area implemented in Turkmenistan, and also made proposals to expand bilateral cooperation in the fuel and energy sector.

Summing up the results of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the effective use of the potential of the oil and gas complexes of the two states would give a powerful impetus to the development of Turkmen-Iraqi cooperation.
