Exhibition of student works dedicated to 2017 Asian Games opens in the Academy of Arts

Turkmenistan prepares actively to V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. The constructors make final touches in building of super modern multi-functional Olympic village. The participants and numerous fans of the Games are waiting impatiently for the start of large-scale sport forum. Artistic youth has also taken up the call if this event. Exhibition gallery of the State Academy of Arts holds topical exposition of student works.


The start of equestrian run, which were given on May 5 of the last year at Nissa State historical and cultural sanctuary and dedicated to the largest sport event in the history of the country, produce an impression on future artists. 17 horsemen riding gracious ahalteke horses with the flags of Turkmenistan, Asian Olympic Committee and Olympic torch set off for the trip across the sightseeing and historical and cultural monuments of five velayats where they are warmly welcomed in best traditions of Turkmen hospitality.


The majority of the exhibits is dedicated to this event but despite one theme, all pictures of the beginning painters are distinguished by the author’s view and stylistic individuality. In particular, it can be traced in the works of 6th and 5th grades students – Zohre Sahetiva and Amandursun Chariyeva.

Perhat Torayev, the 2nd grade student of the Graphics faculty, disclosed the subject using pencil and Indian ink. He called his work “White city Ashgabat”, having painted 17 participants of the horse run on the background of architectural symbols turkmen capital. 6th grade student of painting faculty Meylis Chariyev embodied the idea of modernity, having united the participants of horse run and training cyclists in his picture.


Two works of the student are dedicated to spectacular performances of Galkynysh equestrian group of Turkmenistan State Circus. Tyazegul Hudayberdiyeva, the 2nd grade student of the Graphics faculty used pastel technique, which leaves the feeling of colour harmony and textural saturation. She managed to convey the excitement of horsemen and the speed of horses. She used to visit training of the famous group very often, talked to the riders and made large number of sketches to achieve authenticity of the picture.

Another work, the Circus, made by the 2nd grade student of Painting faculty Sohbet Chariyev. During the work over his the painting, the author stressed the attention on spectator’s perception, having looked at the art of fancy riding through the prism of emotional excitement.


The 3rd grade student of the Graphics faculty Merjen Ishankuilyeva presented six works of poster genre in “Determined Youth” exhibition.

The 5th grade student of Applied Arts faculty Shemshat Nepesova made most original work. She weaved the carpet named “Youth, Beauty and Health”. The logos of programme sports of V Asian Games occupy the central place in the ornament structure of her work.


The exhibition demonstrated again creative potential and civic maturity of the students of the State Academy of Arts, whose works reflects the dynamic of the changes and scale of the events.
