The CIS Observation Mission continues monitoring of the Presidential Elections in Turkmenistan.
The meeting of the First Deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the CIS Executive Secretary V. Guminskiy with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B. Hajiyev was held under the observation of the Presidential Elections.
Issues related to the course of election process as well as organizational work of the CIS Observation Mission were discussed during the meeting. B. Hajiyev highlighted that foreign policy department would assist international observers in their work within national legislation and noted that openness and transparency of the elections corresponding to all democratic principles are the most important objective for Turkmenistan.
Compliance with legislation during nomination and registration of the candidates as well as pre-election campaign were discussed with official representatives of candidate for the President M. K. Annanepesov. During the conversation, they announced that election campaign undergoes openly and transparent taking into account existing legislation.
