The sowing of winter crops and the collection of «white gold» will begin in Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats on 9th of September, and in Dashoguz velayat on 15th of September.
This decision was made by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting via video link.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister for Agro-Industrial Complex T. Atahallyyev reported on the preparations in the country's regions for sowing wheat for next year's harvest and for the cotton harvest campaign.
The Deputy Prime Minister addressed the President of Turkmenistan with a request to give his blessing to the start of sowing winter crops, as well as the organization of seminars with the participation of experienced farmers, specialists, scientists and machine operators. Also, in order to timely harvest cotton and organize this important campaign at the proper level, the Deputy Prime Minister addressed the head of state with a request for permission to hold seminars for farmers, specialized specialists, scientists and machine operators, as well as set a start date for the «white» campaign with the participation of elders respected by the people.
Having blessed the start of the sowing of winter grains on the 6th of September, the harvest of «white gold» in Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats on 9th of September, and in Dashoguz velayat on 15th of September, the head of state addressed the honourary elders with a request to traditionally start these important campaigns with the words «Bismillah!».
«Let your harvests obtained on the fertile native land be plentiful!», –the President of Turkmenistan said, wishing the hardworking grain and cotton growers of the country, all agricultural workers good health and prosperity.
