President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay a working visit to Tajikistan on September 14-15 to participate in the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia and in the meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan R. Meredov spoke about the preparations for this working visit at the government meeting via video link.

According to R. Meredov, a number of parallel events are also planned to be held within the framework of the upcoming summit meetings in Dushanbe.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that one of the key vectors of the foreign policy course of the independent neutral Motherland is the development of friendly relations with neighboring countries in the region.

"Turkmenistan actively cooperates with the Central Asian States, both in a bilateral and multilateral format, putting forward concrete proposals to further enhance traditional interaction across its entire spectrum," the head of state said.

Stressing that our country will continue to take an initiative position in matters of regional partnership, the Head of Turkmenistan instructed the Deputy Prime Minister, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure a high organizational level of preparation for the upcoming summits in Dushanbe and the events envisaged within their framework.
