Reporting on the final results of social and economic development of Turkmenistan in 2016, the Vice-premier informed that the GDP growth made 6.2 percent. This index increased on 1.1 percent in industry, 4.3 percent in construction, 10.7 percent in transport and communication, 14.1 percent in trade, 9.9 percent in agriculture and on 10.4 percent in service sphere.
Average monthly salary in large and medium enterprises of the country was increased for 9.2 percent comparing with 2015.
Construction of industrial, social and cultural facilities undergoes in all regions of the country. The volume of investments from all sources of financing in 2016 is equal to 59.5 billion manats and the growth rate made 0.4 percent comparing with previous year.
The growth rate of production comparing with the same period of 2015 reached 3.1 percent.
The volumes of retail turnover comparing with the same indices of the last year increased on 16.9 percent. The prices for consumer goods and services rendered to the population were kept within set limits.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ya. Kakayev reported on results of work of the fuel and energy complex for the first month of 2017 and on the course of the programme of the Development of Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan until 2030.
Particularly, the plan for production of oil and gas condensate was executed for 108.1 percent, processing of hydrocarbon materials for 107.6 percent. The growth rate made 100.7 percent. Panned targets for production of certain types of oil products were exceeded including petrol for 7.6 percent with growth rate of 100.1 percent, diesel fuel for 9.8 percent, polypropylene for 2.6 percent. Comparing with the same period of the last year, growth rate of lubricants production made 100.7 percent. The drilling plan was executed for 157.3 percent.
The Vice-premier also reported on the course of construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India gas main that is carried out according to the schedule.
Having highlighted important role of fuel and energy complex in the economy of the country, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded to analyse all resources of the branch and involve the reserves for increase of production and processing of oil and gas.
