International cooperation in the modernization of the healthcare system of Turkmenistan

The congratulatory address of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the workers of the healthcare sector and the medical industry of Turkmenistan notes the special role of multidimensional international cooperation in the implementation of program reforms of the national healthcare system.

Cooperation is carried out in expanding and equipping the specialized infrastructure, in attracting foreign investments for the construction of modern hospitals, scientific and clinical centers, pharmaceutical enterprises, in improving the qualifications of doctors, in providing the population with high-quality medical and preventive services, medicines and vaccines, in the development of science and the promotion of medical diplomacy.

The use of international experience, foreign technologies and equipment is given great importance in the construction and equipping of such large facilities as the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology for 250 seats, the International Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for 400 seats, the International Oncological Scientific and Clinical Center for 500 seats, the Dental Center and the International Center of Pediatrics for 160 seats, which they will appear in the Turkmen capital.

During the working trip to the capital by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov familiarized with the state of implementation of these and other projects, it became known that the Islamic Development Bank has received proposals to finance the construction of international-level cancer centers, which are planned to be built in Mary, Balkan and Lebap velayats.

Noting the importance of further strengthening cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, the National Leader of the Turkmen people stressed the importance of intensifying cooperation with foreign partners in order to use best practices in the field of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, equipping healthcare institutions with modern high-tech equipment.

The Turkish company "GAP Inşaat" takes an active part in the construction of modern healthcare centers in Ashgabat. Talking to its head, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that along with the impeccable quality of work and their timely completion, the key criterion is strict compliance with environmental norms and environmental protection requirements in accordance with international standards.

Turkmenistan systematically strengthens cooperation in the field of healthcare with the countries of the world and major international organizations, attaching great importance to the expansion of scientific and medical cooperation in such important areas as the exchange of experience through telemedicine and teleconferences, as well as the introduction of advanced methods in practical medicine.

As the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasizes, interaction with the UN and its specialized agencies, especially with the World Health Organization, as well as with the world's leading healthcare institutions and research centers, is being intensified in line with the development of new areas of cooperation in the field of medicine and scientific diplomacy.

Turkmenistan's positive experience in modernizing the healthcare system is receiving international recognition, one of the evidences of which is the awarding of our country with a special medal by World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe for achievements in providing the population with high-quality medical and preventive services.
