"Let's Save the Earth Together!": a climate eco-festival was held in Ashgabat

On October 15, the 2nd Climate eco-festival organized by the diplomatic missions of Turkey and Great Britain in Turkmenistan was held at the site of the Joint Turkmen-Turkish School in Ashgabat.

The event, the main motto of which is "Let's Save the Earth Together!", was aimed at attracting the attention of young people to the careful attitude to natural resources, rational use of natural resources and environmental protection. In specially equipped interactive zones, guests of the eco-festival could get acquainted with how renewable energy sources work.

For example, solar radiation can be converted into useful energy using so-called active and passive solar systems. For this purpose, solar panels are used, which contain photovoltaic cells. When light falls on these cells, they create an electric current.

The youngest participants of the festival also got acquainted with the novelties in the world of IT technologies. Robotic battles unfolded on one of the sectors of the active zone. Teenagers were offered to control different models of robots presented on the mini-football court, ring and mock-ups of the highway to teach children the rules of the road.

At the same time, the festival participants were told about the correct sorting of garbage. A competent sorting process increases the chance of recycling plastic, paper, glass and metals, which makes it possible to eliminate the costs of their extraction.

At their stands, Turkmen masters and craftsmen exhibited souvenirs made with their own hands from recycled materials.

Reusable eco-bags are very popular today. Having become an excellent replacement for plastic bags, rag bags are made of eco-friendly natural materials that are safe for the environment and capable of biological decay.

The festival included flash mobs, quizzes, presentations of films on the topic of ecology and other eco-activities of particular importance for the formation of ecological consciousness of the population.
