The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, on the basis of the Lebap velayat customs, held an interdepartmental seminar on the topic «Modern customs policy - a guarantee of the development of foreign trade».

The event was attended by personnel of the Lebap customs, specialists from the State Plant Quarantine Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan and the State Veterinary Service, employees of the «Turkmendemiryollary» and «Turkmenavtoulaglary» agencies, representatives of a number of transport and logistics companies and their associations, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan .

The main topic of the seminar was the role of customs policy and the activities of the customs authorities of Turkmenistan, aimed at protecting the domestic market and promoting the development of import-substituting industries, supporting and stimulating exports while maintaining an effective competitive business environment.

During the speeches, issues of implementing reforms in customs administration, improving customs laws and rules governing export activities, compliance with customs formalities when crossing borders, conditions for providing benefits and preferences to exporters and other issues of interest to seminar participants were touched upon.
