Series of works by the student of the State Arts Academy united by the theme of 500-days equestrian ride dedicated to 2017 Asian Games were the prelude of the celebration exposition.
One of the paintings, invariably attracting the interest of the visitors, is a picture “Happy Turkmenistan” by Yarly Bayramov made in symbolism genre. The master placed main characters of the picture – representatives of different generations – the father, son and daughter on high hill on the background of magnificent view of Ashgabat. The girl holds the dish with generous fruits of Turkmen soil high above her head and the son sets free white doves – the symbol of peace, to the sky. Bright palette of colours, beautiful faces shining with goodness, topical dynamics expressing the confidence in future highlight semantic dominant of the picture – the peace and harmony in the family are creative foundation of the changes.
The work “Happiness in Peaceful Land” by coryphaeus of Turkmen paintings Ayhan Khajiyev has something common with the picture of Yarly Bayramov. The artist presented the fragment of national wedding ritual - the bride is leaving of the parents’ house. The spring of new family on the picture is symbolically interweaved with the motifs of spring changes communicated by the polyphony of harmonic hues. On the contrary, the front is filled by bright colour shades transferring the atmosphere of the event.
An interesting picture “Toward the Light” is presented by Berdy Chariyev. In the centre, the artist pictured metaphoric horses riding at an incredible speed and meaning the endeavour of our epoch. The symbols of the independence, indicative events and the emotionality of the achievements are embodied on the picture.

Toymammed Esenmammedov showed in his picture “The Toy” (celebration) how joyfully this holiday is celebrated at his native place in Balkan Velayat. Elder women in bright dresses cook tasty deep-fried sweets and bake flat bread for the entertainment and the youth performs exciting kushtdepdi – the dance of youthful energy, rapid and plastic moves.
Famous artist Chary Hummedov represented the celebration of the holiday in Lebap Velayat villages in his work “Dograma”. Plenty of small pieces of flat bread is required for cooking of this celebration dish. The master portrayed the process of making of these small pieces by all women and girls. The work is monotonous and exhausting but shall it is performed by friendly group everything goes very well.
Hard-working Turkmen women are invariable muse of this talented and original painter and he reveals celebration theme via demonstration of their work.
The picture of Saparmammed Meredov “At Work” continues the topic of people’s work. The canvas was not exhibited yet and attracted special interest of the paintings lovers. In the centre of the picture, there is a man carried away with binding sheaves. Ready sheaves go to stack. The picture is painted in ochre and pistachio colours. Golden field of wheat ears spreads out like sea on the background of the picture. Light pistachio colours, containing the tiredness of the farmer and grain pollen in hot midday efficiently combine with yellowness of the field and sheaves.
