A rich harvest of some types of leguminous and oilseed crops has been harvested in Dashoguz velayat.

Thus, the target for the procurement of mung beans, planted this year on 7,300 hectares, was exceeded by 32 tons; significantly more than the target was collected from the fields of «Noyba» beans and sesame. The main producers of these crops in Dashoguz velayat were farmers of Akdepe, Koneurgench etraps and S. Turkmenbashy etrap.

The Boldumsaz etrap has also become one of the major suppliers of valuable products, where more than one and a half thousand tons of mung bean, 120 tons of noyba and 45 tons of sesame were harvested this year. All harvested crops from the fields were tested for quality, and the necessary measures were taken for proper preservation.

The weather and climatic conditions of Dashoguz velayat require local farmers to have a strict approach to choosing the most optimal crops for mass production.

Mung bean, which is of great importance in crop rotation, economically consumes water, or beans, which are resistant to droughts and various diseases, not only help saturate the consumer market with valuable and nutritious products, but also improve the reclamation composition of the soil.

Sesame is also one of the unpretentious oilseed crops and produces a good harvest even in dry conditions.

And, of course, an important factor for their cultivation in large volumes is the fact that nutritious and very healthy mung beans, «Noyba» and sesame have been irreplaceable ingredients in various local dishes since time immemorial.
