The study visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to consisting of 16 people to Georgia on the topic “Sustainable energy in practice: the success of Georgia and the best practices of the EU.”

The trip was organized by a project of the European Union "Sustainable Energy Links in Central Asia" (SECCA). The Turkmen delegation included representatives State Electric Power Corporation "Turkmenenergo", Research and Production Center State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.

The delegates held meetings with representatives of the Ministry Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Development Fund Energy of Georgia, Energy Efficiency Center of the company

"State Electric System of Georgia". They got acquainted with common strategic and legal framework for promoting sustainable energy, practical aspects of promoting energy efficiency in buildings (building inventory government, energy certification of buildings), practical aspects of industrial promotion (register of large enterprises, high-quality energy audits).

Participants also took part in a round table on the topic development of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in Central Asian countries. In these communications, they visited hydro, wind and solar power plants Georgia.
