Today, Turkmen businessmen, effectively using the enormous potential of the independent state, are building new production facilities, erecting unique buildings, and producing various goods that can compete in the world market. The economic society «Akgaya» near the village of Akdash in the Turkmenbashy etrap of the velayat is one of such enterprises, created many years ago.

The economic company, which is part of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, occupies an area of more than 25 hectares, produces building materials and drywall. All work at the enterprise is carried out automatically using central control center technologies. Construction mixtures, as well as plasterboard for roofing and wall coverings of various buildings and structures, are in great demand.

It is worth noting that the enterprise makes a significant contribution to the implementation of tasks arising from the «State program for the production of substitute products for imported goods in Turkmenistan» and the «State program for increasing the export of products manufactured in Turkmenistan».

Every year the company produces 78 thousand tons of building mixtures (putty) and 8 million square meters of plasterboard (alchipan) necessary for leveling walls. A significant part of the raw materials necessary for the proper establishment of production activities is also mined from natural mines near the local village of Akdash. This provides ample opportunity to carry out activities at a fast pace and ensure availability of products to consumers.

Currently, drywall is a building material that is regularly shipped not only to domestic but also to foreign consumers. This is clearly evidenced by the fact that countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan show great interest in the company's products.

Recently, paints produced by «Akgaya» employees have been supplied to customers in 10- and 20-gram containers under the «Kent» brand.
