On November 28, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of a representative delegation to participate in the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation.
The guest conveyed warm words of greetings from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Head of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes to the leader of the friendly state.
The head of state and the guest stated that today interstate cooperation is successfully developing in a wide range of areas. The need to strengthen the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation as a coordinating body for the development of relations in trade-economic, energy, transport-communications, scientific-technical, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres was emphasized.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for further building up the traditional partnership.
At the same time, special emphasis was placed on the importance of using the advantageous geographical location of our neighboring countries, which allows us to implement joint projects of an international scale. This concerns cooperation in the field of energy supplies, expanding trade relations by leveraging the potential of seaports and intensifying cargo transportation across the Caspian Sea, creating transport corridors connecting many countries, as well as interaction in the field of communications and communication.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in expanding a fruitful dialogue in the fields of culture, science and education, which undoubtedly is a solid basis for strengthening ties between the two fraternal peoples.
