Magtymguly Pyragy Portal launched on the Internet

The creation of the "Magtymguly Pyragy Portal" is one of the key tasks outlined in the event plan to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classic poet of the East. This work involved specialists of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts, responsible for the portal's content, along with the Center of Technologies, in charge of the portal's server software and cyber security, and universities providing language support.

This new information resource, created through modern digital technologies, introduces the world to Magtymguly's rich literary legacy, which forms part of the treasures of world literature. The portal allows internet users from across the globe to delve into the poet's spiritual world and philosophical views that had significant influence on the mentality, moral values and life principles of the Turkmen people. The portal encompasses extensive information, divided into sections such as the era in which the poet lived and worked, his biography and worldview, his poetry, immortalization, the study of his works, books and events dedicated to Magtymguly Pyragy.

To enhance user convenience, the portal features categorized poems, audio recordings, a search function, and the ability to rate the audio recordings and view the number of poems read. It also showcases numerous monuments to Magtymguly located in Turkmenistan and other countries, notable quotes about the poet from renowned people, information on documentaries and artistic films, paintings, various publications, and scholarly research on the creative heritage of the Turkmen classic poet, as well as events dedicated his 300th anniversary.

Furthermore, users have the option to send information to the portal's web administrator. An electronic crossword puzzle based on words from the poet's 18th-century poems, requiring modern interpretation, has been developed and uploaded to the portal for self-checking of students studying the works of Magtymguly Pyragy. The portal also includes a countdown timer until the celebration of Magtymguly Pyragy’s 300th anniversary in 2024.
