A festive event was held in New Delhi in honor of the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fraga

Recently, New Delhi hosted a conference, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of India in collaboration with The India-Central Asia Foundation on the topic "Magtymguly Pyragy and the spiritual and cultural world of the East."

The event was attended by representatives of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads of missions and representative office of international organizations accredited in New Delhi, scientists and university professors, media representatives, as well as Turkmen students studying in Indian universities.

The Turkmen and Indian scientists, who spoke at the conference, highly appreciated the philosophical depth, humanistic content and artistic perfection of Magtymguly Pyragy’s works, as well as the significance of the poet's rich heritage in promoting ideas of peace and universal values, in patriotic and moral education.

The event also included presentation of a new collection of selected works of the poet translated into Hindi. The book generated great interest as it repeatedly mentions India.

The participants of the meeting expressed unanimous agreement on the need to continue Turkmen-Indian cooperation in the scientific study of the works of the great poet.

The festive event included performances by musicians and dance groups of Turkmenistan. The extensive exhibition of folk arts and crafts, books and photo works familiarized the participants with the history, culture, national traditions and achievements of modern Turkmenistan.
