Recently, as part of the visit of the delegation of the International Labour Organization to Ashgabat, a meeting was held at the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan with Miranda Faerman, a specialist in international labour standards of the Decent Work Technical Support Group and the ILO Bureau for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Miranda Faerman was informed about the activities of the national human rights institution, promising areas of change to improve the potential of the Ombudsman's Office.

During the meeting, it was also noted that Turkmenistan, being a full member of the ILO, has acceded to the main international acts of the organization in the field of labor rights and stands for the strict implementation of international law.

In the context of discussing Turkmenistan’s efforts to promote and protect human labor rights, the important role played by the Ombudsman’s Office in this work was assessed. In this regard, the parties discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation, expressing mutual readiness for its further development in the interests of protecting and promoting human rights.
