Artists of Lebap Theater won diplomas of the Aitmatov and Theater Festival

The results of the VI International Theater Festival "Aitmatov and Theater" were summed up in Bishkek, which involved theater groups from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Our country was represented on the festival stage by the troupe of the Seyitnazar Seydi State Music and Drama Theater of Lebap velayat with the play "The White Steamboat". The performance took place on December 10 at the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater named after T. Abdumomunov.

The Turkmen-language adaptation of Chingiz Aitmatov's novel received positive reviews and was recognized by the festival organizers.

At the award ceremony, representatives of the creative team from Turkmenistan were awarded a diploma and a statuette of the VI International Theater Festival "Aitmatov and Theater". In addition, actress Ogulshat Jumaeva received a special award for her talented performance in a leading role of the boy in the play "The White Steamboat".

It is worth mentioning that the jury consisted of national writers, theater critics, doctors of art history and theater figures of participating countries. Turkmenistan was represented in the expert commission by Gulyalek Akmyradova, People's Artist, director, theater and film actress.

This year, the VI International Theater Festival "Aitmatov and Theater" was held under the auspices of the 95th anniversary of the birth of the prominent writer Chingiz Aitmatov.

As Altynbek Maksutov, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted in his speech, the goal of the International Festival "Aitmatov and Theater" is to perpetuate the memory of Chingiz Aitmatov, popularize his works, transfer his spiritual heritage to future generations and strengthen intergovernmental cultural ties.
