Foreign guests attended fashion shows in Ashgabat

Fashion shows of leading Turkmen designers organized by the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, in collaboration with the administration of Ashgabat and the capital's Fashion House, have become the most discussed event of the week.

The first fashion shows were attended by renowned figures of the country's arts and creative professions, as well as their foreign colleagues.

Among the distinguished guests were the president of the French Fashion Association "Route De La Soie Et Al-Andalus," the organizer of the "Oriental Fashion Show" Hind Joudar, the photographer Jacques Tomasini, and the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chynar Rustemova.

Designers from the fashion houses "Ashgabat," "Mähirli Zenan," "Nur Ýüpek," and "Peýker" presented their new collections, created in the ethno-national style at the main fashion platform of the country.

Moreover, an exhibition of original products by members of the creative association "Design Plus" was held as part of the prêt-à-porter. Guests and participants of the event could familiarize themselves with original accessories handmade on national motifs.

The fashion industry of Turkmenistan is actively developing, with many "Made in Turkmenistan" brands reaching international levels and conquering the global stage. The year 2023 was eventful, as designers from our country successfully presented their best collections in Italy, Paris and Russia.

All of this indicates the broad potential of Ashgabat, which is included in the Creative Cities Network of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in the "Design" category.

These days’ events are also aimed at developing the industry, popularizing the capital's design potential and providing new opportunities for creative workers.
