Delegations of Turkmenistan and Iran held a regular working meeting at the Artyk customs post of Akhal velayat customs.

The Turkmen delegation consisting of representatives of the Customs, Migration, Border Services, "Turkmenawtoulaglary" and "Turkmendemiryollary" Agencies, as well as the State Enterprise "Turkmenulaggozegchilik" was led by A. Niyazov, Head of the Customs Control Department of the State Customs Service of the country.

The Iranian delegation was headed by Korban Karimi, head of the "Lotfabad" customs post. The meeting was attended by the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Iran (Mashhad city) and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the Akhal velayat. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of road freight transportation through the Artyk-Lotfabad customs posts.

In particular, they highlighted the need to increase the working hours of checkpoint officials, simplify visa issuance for truck drivers, and reduce waiting time through accelerated cargo inspection. The delegates also discussed the issue of repairing the Iranian section of the highway that runs between the customs posts.
